Hello from Salt Lake City, the evening before this issue is formally due. Tuesday it's off to Boston, where I'll spend ten or so days at my company's trade show extravaganza, DECworld (last time around, we parked the Queen Elizabeth II in Boston Harbor to serve as extra rooming). I'm quite excited about the trip, as this will be my first DECworld.
Ancient history by now is my early July trip to the Bay Area, including an enjoyable weekend tasting wines in the Napa Valley.
Also of note in recent months: publication of two of the most important books of the decade. I've contributed reviews of both in this issue.
