I should hope we don't have to choose between nature and "nuture," as you call it.

The liquid/solid theory is not mine but one I read about in a book called Intimate Strangers. It's a book I would not recommend to my worst enemy. It talks about everything that could possibly go wrong in relationships between the sexes and why and makes it seem as though the only way a romantic involvement can stay together is if each partner's neuroses complement the other's. The book left me depressed for months.

Anyway, I've vacillated a few times on this environment/hard wiring issue, but do lean now toward thinking environmental influences have a greater effect than genetic. And what about hormones? Has a study ever been done to test transsexuals before and after the operation?
