This is a response to VC 19 John 8 ("In Hell every day's Apr 15")...
John,
Would you like a review of some of the Mac Tax programs? John (my SO) and I used MacInTax this year. It prepared our federal and state taxes in a few short hours. It provides all the forms and even lets you do "what if" comparisons.
My taxes are simple these days - I'm an employee with no other income and I take the standard deductions (cause the boss pays all my professional fees). John, however, has several properties, investments (some winning and some losing), and an ex-wife (but not in time for Uncle Sam) with an income to match his. His taxes went on for pages, but he cast nary a sweat droplet.
If you don't use these programs, you should try them next year. John said it was as good as steroids! (In vet med, if you can't find the cause or can't help the symptoms, use the magic bullet - steroids! It works where other drugs fail.)
I have an unopened, factory sealed copy of TurboTax (also well rated in several Mac magazines) if anyone is interested. (Real Cheap, like shipping costs since it is the 1990 version. But with registration, I believe you get inexpensive annual upgrades.)
