A friend of mine (honorary Archipelagoan Jim E.), just told me about a story he heard on NPR.

As you probably know, both President and Mrs. Bush have a thyroid condition called Graves Disease. According to this report, doctors routinely advise their patients with Graves Disease not to make any important decisions if at all possible. It seems that people with Graves Disease have a tendency to take rash actions which they may later regret.
