I recently read an article about the development of software by a subsidary of Fuji Xerox that is supposedly a very effective way to teach Japanese to English speakers - so effective that its principal techniques are likely to be adapted to the teaching of other languages. It is called NihongoWare and is a hypercard and CD-ROM program for the Macintosh.
