History Repeats?

Voice Card  -  Volume 21  -  Drury Card Number 12  -  Mon, Aug 12, 1991 4:24 PM

The same fear was raised when Harry S. Truman stepped into office on the death of Roosevelt. We were still at war and many people predicted that the United States would "go to Hell" with the loss of such a great leader. Truman was a nobody, a failed haberdashery owner, who talked just like any midwesterner, with hoaky (sp?) phrases and sayings. Truman impressed very few people.

He was a good president! Well, except that he did drop TWO bombs on Japan.
