Dear Stuart and Kathy:
Please accept my most heartfelt condolences on the death of your dear friend. Hers was a long and valiant struggle and she was blessed to have your friendship to lean on through to the very end.
I met Jackie several times when we were all in Salt Lake together. She was a most impressive person: vibrant, full of life, and clearly very talented. I remember the five of us (you two and Jackie and Mike and I) whispering together in the lobby of that fancy bed-and-breakfast place that Stuart worked at for a time. We all kept Stuart company during his long night's watch over the inn, trying to keep our laughter low so as not to waken the guests. She was interested and interesting, one of the few people who I think really understood my Gilligan's Island story. I liked her very much.
Thank you, Stuart, for sharing your experience with us. I think it was, perhaps, the most beautiful voice card I've ever read. I think Jackie would have loved it.
Give an extra hug to Kathy for me and give one to yourself while you're at it.
