Kristin is now crawling all over the place, pulling herself up on furniture, and cruising around the furniture. She loves to go to the coffee table and clean it off by throwing everything on to the floor. She also likes to get into my dresser drawers and pull all my socks out and throw them on the floor. However, all her mobility got her into trouble a couple of weeks ago.
Kristin was in the bedroom playing with some ribbon and wrapping paper, when Diane went into the bathroom for minute. During that minute, Kristin had crossed to the other side of the room, pulled herself up on a full length wall mirror, and proceeded to play with her image. Diane heard a loud crash and the sound of glass shattering. When she rushed into the bedroom, she saw the mirror face down on the floor, broken glass spread around, and two tiny arms sticking out from under the mirror.
Fortunately, Kristin wasn't badly hurt - a few small cuts on her forehead (though she may have a little scar for a while from the cut that was the deepest). That episode didn't scare her from mirrors though. As soon as Diane pulled the mirror off of her and gave her a few hugs for comfort, she went right back over to the mirror and started whacking her image. Good or bad, she doesn't seem to have much fear of anything.
She's is also starting to eat anything that she can get her hands on. We have a picture of her with Diane's mother shoving nori-maki (rice rolled in seaweed) into her mouth and onto her face. She particularly loves dill pickles, steamed brocolli, bread, and ice cream.
Next time - the story about her first words.
