What is a graphic designer / desktop publisher? Do you, by chance, design booth displays for conventions? Or are you strictly a book-type thing?

We have our BIG bird conference coming up in September and we need a nice booth display for selling our lab's services. Is that what a graphic designer / desktop publisher would do?
