For a 1920's version of computerized sneakers, refer to Professor Fodorski, by Robert Louis Taylor. This book has been a favorite of mine since I first found it in the Idaho Falls public library 20 or so years ago. Long out of print, I've seen and read it only once in the last twelve years. Used bookstore browsers take note: I would pay a small fortune for my own copy of this gem.
