While I can sympathize with John's frustration with Barney's theme song, I believe Barney's show has its merits. Although I am not a parent, (and don't want to be for awhile) I have a large number of friends who have children who are fans of Barney. You cannot babysit or associate with anyone who has young children without Barney coming up. I am well aware of his existence just because for some children, that is all they talk about. Perhaps it is better than the Ninja Turtle phenomena
