I guess now that I am in my second quarter (and last) of classes, I have begun to realize that changes in the educational system go through phases, and depending on how the community is feeling will definately affect the hidden curriculum of a school.

I have decided after being in the classroom, that if I do quit teaching, it will not be because of the students, but more likely than not, it will be because of the adults.

There is not a single person in my credential program with me that I would absolutely hate to have as a teacher, but unfortunately, it may be a few years before any of us has any real push or pull in the schools.

Until then I can only hope the students who are "At Risk" are getting the help that they need. At the same time I wish that society would realize that we ALL have a hand in creating some of the ideas and values kids have today.
