This is a response to VC 29 Suzanne 9 ("A Reader's World ")...
Suzanne,
I was reading a book for one of my classes called Authors' Insights. Various authors of young adult books gave their insights on how to make reading more interesting to young adults. Norma Fox-Mazer talked about how Americans love ice cream, and that is how much we should love reading.
I don't know about you, but I've always loved reading far more than I've loved ice cream, although ice cream does take a close second.
Wouldn't my job be so much easier if kids loved reading as much as they love ice cream. A teacher can dream can't she?
