This is a response to VC 33 Suzanne 16 ("The Zen of Solitaire")...
I don't really have anything to add here except a note of admiration. Suzanne is an astonishing voice cardist, not least because of her talent for unfettered associations.
Anyone who can, for ANY reason, toss off a list like "caviar, fine old scotch, raw oysters, squid in any form, or bowling" is A-OK in my book!
But as long as we're on the subject of lists, an art form that many great writers have attempted, here is one of my favorite lists, from Bleak House, by Charles Dickens - the catalog of caged birds kept by the mad Miss Flite:
"Hope, Joy, Youth, Peace, Rest, Life, Dust, Ashes, Waste, Want, Ruin, Despair, Madness, Death, Cunning, Folly, Words, Wigs, Rags, Sheepskin, Plunder, Precedent, Jargon, Gammon, and Spinach."
