This is a response to volume 4, Tomás Card Number 1 ("Bestiary sketches")...
Mi estimado amigo:
John sent along your sketches with the transit stack for issue #4. I think they're quite good. I hadn't really envisioned the achoos before, and was quite pleased with your rendering. Cute pesky looking little critters they are! A cross between Casper The Ghost and Mighty Mouse. Terrific! I particularly like the fat achoo and the achoo on a motorcycle. Is there some way to share them with the group?
I also like the bees. The goggle idea is inspired. There is a picture of a bee in the middle of the page, the one who has a little nose, of whom I am particularly fond.
What colors do you envision these characters being? It would be fun to see your ideas for illustrating a whole poem with these characters. Do you envision one sort of representive picture for each poem, say a bee floating in the water ("For sails he had wings and for paddles his wings") past the mouse ("But he most begrudged the mouse on his cheese / who floated by blowing bubbles all day"), or do you envision a couple or more drawings for a poem.
I feel on thin ice here, not wanting to infringe on your artistic license. At any rate, I think the drawings are first rate!
