I did it the old way

This is a response to VC 22 Drury 17 ("How did you do it?")...

Drury:

How did RoseAnne and I get together? Not the way suggested by that lab experiment.

It was one of meeting in a boarding house, associating at dinner, talking about all kinds of current things, going out on group dates.

Nothing much was happening while Rose Anne and I were still living at the boarding house. Just friendly group dates. Then she moved out to her own apartment. Things then got to more of a dating or party atmosphere from the casual friends of the boarding house. However after a couple of get-togethers, and a party of two we drifted apart.

About six or seven years later, with only few and far between meetings an incident happened. The boarding house was closing. That put me into the "serious" mode. We happened to meet again and it very quickly became a serious affair. Parties, dinners and serious talks, that sort of thing.

It wasn't the association with common purpose and being told that she or he likes your "thing". I wouldn't say that there was none of that in the association. But the idea expressed in that article seems to ring true to me.
