Go Drury, Go!

Now having experienced larger corporations, I can see where Betsy and Janine have their problems. Unfortunately, when you are working for a large employer, your immediate boss can and often does make your life miserable. The more powers that be that there are, the more difficult it becomes to deal with personnel problems, especially when those problems deal with the support staff. Sure you can go to your supervisor's boss, but he/she may not be around that often and your constructive criticism may be considered an attack. Pity the fool who accidently offends their aggressive co-worker or supervisor. Whew - the backstabbing will kill you.

Drury, you were fair, you did not ask anyone to do something that you yourself would not do. Unfortunately you are one of the few "bosses" I have had who was reasonable. How do you rationalize with someone who is not rational? How do you change your situation once the anger and resentment has reached epic levels?

I don't think it is as cut and dry as you think it is. Sometimes we limit ourselved due to the fact that money is freedom. If we all had money, we would all be in a better position to do the type of job we love, but in today's recession, sometimes concessions must be made until another opportunity arises. Besides if we cannot complain to our friends, who else can we complain to?

Okay, okay, so we are having this discussion at a difficult time in my life as far as jobs are concerned so I may be biased, but hey I guess John could use a little help from the scathing remarks from you Drury.
