I still have fond recollections of your visit to Salt Lake. Let's see, that would have been... 1981, nine years ago. Has it really been that long?

If I had to characterize myself in three words, probably I couldn't do better than your "very quiet romantic". You've caught me on a bad night (month? year? decade? We'll see.), though; I have no idea how the romanticism has lasted, after all I've put myself through since our last face-to-face talk.

The Cheshire Cat and the English Butler (both former roommates) would probably pick another three word phrase, something like "bitter and cynical". Maybe you're all right.
