I am intrigued by your definition of suffering:
"...more than anything, suffering is lack of choice..."
Taken at face value, I am strongly inclined to take issue with this definition. Frequently, it's having choices to make that seems to cause my suffering. Conversely, NOT having a choice can be quite a relief.
