Five ways to calm fussy babies (at least our fussy baby).
- Blow hot air from the hair dryer on her little butt while changing her diaper. She likes the noise and the warm air.
- The sound and feel of running water. She likes to go in the shower with Mom and/or Dad. However, using the sound of running water to calm her in the middle of a drought is not wise. Tape the sound for future playback.
- The sound of the ocean. Again on tape.
- Dancing to jazz - especially with saxaphone (like Kenny G). Tiring for Dad, but puts her to sleep every time.
- Having Dad hold her while running up and down the stairs. Again very tiring, and dangerous. I slipped and sprained my ankle a couple of days ago - no injury to Kristin though. We'll be more careful in the future - no more running up and down in loose socks only.
[Editor's note: This is great stuff, Larry! Keep it coming!]
