I am about to embark on a new adventure. I sometimes feel that I cannot help but wonder if I am making the right decisions, but after long hours of agonizing thought, I've decided to move to Seattle. Now this may not seem like a big deal to some of you but for me it was a major decision.
I was born and raised in San Jose, CA and during my childhood, I moved twice. Once when I was six months old, and once after my freshman year in high school, and that move only brought me closer to my high school.
After high school, of course, I moved to Davis to go to the University of California. I loved and hated Davis at the same time. I have now lived here for 5 years. Even after I graduated from college, I decided I was not ready to move. Now one year out of college and I'm off to Seattle to start a new life.
One of the biggest reasons I am moving is because of my S.O. Steve. He is stationed in Seattle on The United States Coast Guard Cutter Polar Sea. Now we have decided, much to my parents horror, that we do not like being apart so I have decided to move.
The other reason I am moving is because as long as I am close enough to my parents, they will continue to try and run my life. Now in someways this move will prove to myself if I have what it takes to make it on my own. At the same time as my move date gets closer, I find the butterflies in my stomach are more like a stampede of elephants.
So for all of you in Archipelago land wish me luck on my new adventure and I will be keeping you updated. Lets hope that John remembers to send me my disks in water proof envelopes, I hear that all it does up there is rain....
