This is a response to VC 24 Stuart 2 (""I Want, I Want"")...
Stuart,
Having been out of school for 2 years, I find that Archipelago is a constant source of information. Sort of a life line to the things about college I loved the most. Drury was right: I am beginning to think about going back to school to get my teaching credential. One of the reasons is because even though I don't hate my job, I do wish I got more self satisfaction out of the job I am doing.
Still it seems that no matter what I do, I still want more. I want a better job, a more exciting career etc. I just can't seem to make up my mind about what I want to do with the rest of my life. We shall see what the next year brings. I do miss the class discussions we used to have in my English classes.
You mentioned in your Opening that you were teaching a Jewish-American Literature class. I would love to know what your reading list was. I have found that some of my favorite books have been the books I read in my Black Literature course which I took at UC Davis. "Multi-Ethnic" literature interests me a lot. I've learned a lot about myself through books that are labled as Multi-Ethnic.
If you have any suggestions for good books let me know I'd love to hear from you.
