I have just purchased Danny Goodman's massive volume with the intent to begin going through it over Christmas when I'll have some uninterrupted time.

You mention that you have some complaints with this book. As a beginner, is it worthwhile for me to be aware of these complaints?

Also, do you have any suggestions regarding the study of this handbook (e.g., sections that can be skipped, other information that should be known prior to any section)? I would appreciate any advice.
