John, I just want to jump in here and say how nicely written that explanation was. I really like the phrase, "the Arctic whiteness of the blank page." Your description of the process of creating a hypercard program sounds very much like how the process of writing a poem is for me and, I suspect, for many creative tasks -- syphonies to lab experiments.
Lastly, John, please tell how you would make a computer out of a waterfall. . .?
